Women's Whitetail Camp

We've teamed up with Backcountry Hunters and Anglers of Missouri and the Missouri Department of Conservation to offer 7 lucky ladies the opportunity to learn to hunt deer!

This camp will cover the A to Z of hunting whitetail deer in Missouri. Heavy on safety, skills, camaraderie and conservation, we guarantee you will walk away a changed person! Beginning with a Hunter Education session on Friday 12/9 at 8 am (internet assisted version). After lunch, we will head to the range to make sure hunters are dialed in and comfortable with their firearm of choice. Then, mentors and hunters will break away to scout and set up their hunting locations. Friday will end with a wild game dinner, prepared by your mentors. We've reserved a large Air B&b for mentors and hunters to stay in for the weekend.

Saturday 12/10 and Sunday 12/11 will be spent hunting alongside a seasoned mentor, where you will have the opportunity to harvest a whitetail doe. Once successful, we will cover field dressing and further processing of your deer. We will be backseat drivers here--this is your hands-on opportunity to learn the skills!

We will provide all meals between Friday morning and Sunday lunch, lodging, education and mentorship. This experience will be $250 and available by application only. Applications will be available at wildherness.org/events-1 beginning Monday November 7. The selections will be made by November 25, 2022 and individuals will be notified by email of their acceptance. The registration fee will be due within 48 hours of notification to secure your spot. Hunters will be responsible for the purchase of a Missouri hunting license and valid deer tag(s).

This L2H Camp is open to girls & women 16+. Those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
